AAFD Geared Up For Last Race of the 2010 Season

The end of the season is coming up fast. The last race of the year will be held this weekend at Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA. 21 Top Fuel cars will soon be pulling in to the historic "Patch" to battle it out for the 19th California Hot Rod Reunion Top Fuel title.


The NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Championship is on the line and Jim Murphy is leading the pack with Adam Sorokin close behind and Brad Thomspon close enough to catch them as well. With only 26 points separating the top 3 drivers, this weekends race will surely be the place to be.


Last years Top Fuel winner Rick McGee will be on hand to defend his title. After sitting out most of the year because of a work related accident, he is chomping at the bit to get back in the car. Fresh off his win in Norwalk, Troy Green and the "Crop Duster" team will be heading to the west coast. Car owner, Frank Ousley has always wanted to run at the "Reunion" and his dream will finally come true this weekend. Nightfire Nationals winner, Brett Harris and Nitro Thunder will make the long haul from Utah with his Posse, and James Day will be driving the Bothelo Racing car from Nevada.


Bill Dunlap will be back in the seat of a top fuel dragster, racing with Bob Richardson and his "Circuit Breaker" gang, and fellow Southern California racer Rick White will be coming up from sunny San Diego.


Local racer Denver Schutz will be on hand with the "Raisin Express 2", as well as "Ground Zero" some more local boys from Merced, CA. Northern California's Brendan Murry will bring his Chevy powered rail, along with Terry Cox and his 426 ride, Cheetah IV.


Don't miss what is sure to be an extraordinary weekend of racing. This is the last stop for AAFD in 2010. The California Hot Rod Reunion will be held October 15-17th at Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA.
